Bikes 101

Bikes 101

Like any new obsession, learning new things is half the fun. Of course, it can always be daunting to find where to start. Here is a great place for that! You need to first consider what you want to get out of the humble bicycle. Modern bicycles are almost unrecognizable when compared with the primitive machines first introduced in the 1800s, but the concept goes back far earlier than that, and continues to this day. "Wheels are pretty cool, could they help me go faster?"

There are typically three broad categories to cycling, with a lot more granularity hidden within.

No matter how you're planning on going about it, we guarantee that life is better with a bike. (Although I guess we're a little biased)

Lifestyle Bikes

Of course, the most obvious category is simply getting from one place to the other; Commuting! We've done a little writing to collect some of the most important things to consider when you're looking to bike for casual fun, exercise, and getting wherever you need to go!

Some people are able to either reduce their reliance on cars, or in some cases, remove the need for a personal car altogether! Consider all the new E-Bikes entering the market. Packed with exciting features like increased towing capacity, batteries with enough juice to go almost too far, and even extra seating so you can move your little ones around with ease.

Even if you don't want to make a big change, and driving is still gonna stay a part of your daily life, there's still a lot of room for fun and healthy activity, that'll improve your cardio, mood, and general energy levels!

Road Bikes

Arguably the most iconic kind of cycling. "Road" cycling can span anywhere from casual gravel rides with the friends and a couple of brewskis, to the most hardcore Aero racing. So, who are you? Chill, competitive, a little of both? Both is good.

Electric Bikes

The obvious next step. Bicycles are already considered the most efficient form of human powered transportation, so what do you do when you've harnessed all the power you possibly can, and you still need a little more?

Electricity!

With the power of modern technology, you can go faster, farther, and easier. There are obviously lots of reasons an E-bike might be the best choice, but which one... Hmm.
